Prophetic-School Training 101

Week 6 Activation Exercise

Volunteer

This week's activation will give you the opportunity to apply and practice what you have been learning about personal prophetic ministry. Before we describe the exercise, let's review what we have been learning (or why we can expect God to meet us in this and make us successful in this type of ministry).

When we have given our lives to Christ, the Bible becomes our, "Book of Directions." It becomes our road map. Follow it and we will have salvation, healing, prosperity, victory... etc... etc. In Ephesians 1:18, Paul prays that "our eyes of understanding" be opened. James 1:22 tells us to not only be "hearers" of the Word, but "doers" of the Word. The New International Version Bible says "Do what it says." It is important to listen and know what God says, but is much more important to obey, to do what it says.

We have learned that we are to "covet earnestly" the best gifts (1 Corinthians 12:31) and to "covet to prophesy" (1 Corinthians 14:39). We also learned in 1 Tim. 4:14 that we are not to "neglect our gifts."

God has given us "spiritual gifts" so he can communicate with us. In Romans 12:6, Paul speaks of prophecy and faith. They go hand in hand. We have been building faith these past five weeks, as well as learning different ways that God communicates with us.

We have covered one on one prophetic praying, learning that God speaks through us for the benefit of others through prayer. We have learned that we can write the thoughts of God for ourselves or for others. We have witnessed that God can and does speak through one on one sharing, through group sharing, and through group words of knowledge, as well as corporate words.

But most important of all, we've learned.......

** God desires to communicate! **

This weeks activation is named "volunteer". We will need one person in your group who is willing to be "practiced on", and by doing so, receive a blessing. All other group members will pray, tune in to God and believe for a word, a thought, or a picture for the person volunteering, and then be willing to step out in faith and share what they have received.

PURPOSE

This weeks activation will allow each group to tune into any area of the volunteers life, from ministry, future ministry, home and/or personal life, etc. This type of exercise gives each group member an opportunity to share their thought, picture, or word from God.

Not only will we be fulfilling God's desire to communicate, but also we will hear a wide variety of words that can be given to one person. This in turn helps us to gain understanding of the unlimited ways in which God chooses to share.

STEP BY STEP PROCESS OF THIS ACTIVATION

  1. Once Again We Will Hear And Share.

We will bless one of our group members because of the Holy Spirit within us. We are leaning on and trusting in God's grace.

  2. Scriptural Foundation For This Activation

1 Corinthians 12:7 "Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good."

1 Corinthians 12:11 "All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines."

1 Peter 1:10 "Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you"

  3. Ask For A Volunteer:

Who wishes to volunteer for this activation? Who is willing to let others practice on them, and in turn receive a blessing?

The volunteer will receive ministry. The other group members will all tune in and receive, then give their thoughts and compare theirs with the others given.

This exercise should be repeated at least twice so that the volunteer also gets an opportunity to receive and deliver a word (or thought or picture as well as to receive them).

  4. Tune In

Now we are about to step out in faith and tune into God to receive a "Word of Knowledge," or a "Word of Wisdom," that will encourage, exhort, or edify, as well as refresh our brother or sister.

This may come forth in the form of:

    1. A mental impression
    2. A thought or a word
    3. A picture

  5. It Does Not Have To Make Sense To You

It is important that you share what God has given you.

No matter how foolish or silly you think it is.... SHARE IT, do NOT try to interpret it!

It may seem foolish to you, but as you share, you will see how it falls in line and/or blends in with what God has shown another group member.

Remember, it is NOT for you but for the one who volunteered.

  6. Terminology

    Please do not use:

    Thus saith the Lord
    God revealed.... etc.

    Instead use:

    This is what I saw....
    I felt....
    I sensed....

  7. Sanctification - Activation Prayer:

    Everyone join in prayer:

Dear Lord, In the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, I come before your throne. I believe that Christ lives within me, and that I am washed by the blood. Not in part, but in my whole being. I now bring every thought of my mind and soul into captivity to the mind of Christ within. I will gladly and openly share all that Christ shares with me. I will not doubt, nor question it. I am willing to give. I am a believer, and expect to receive. I thank you Lord, for giving me a thought from the throne. Amen.

  8. Leaders Pray A Prayer Of Covering/Protection

The purpose of this short and specific prayer is to bind any hindering or religious spirits, and to release faith and anointing. Use whatever words you desire, but it does not have to be long and involved.

  9. Stir Yourself Up Spiritually

Pray for 30-60 seconds quietly in the Spirit (or in English) to invite God to come and use you. This stirs us up Spiritually (1 Corinthians 14:14 and 2 Tim. 1:6).

Believe that you will receive from the Lord.

  10. Go Silent

Go silent, look inside, see and hear. Tune in to what God desires to share with you.

    Reminder:
for the scope of these exercises, negative, harsh, corrective or directive words are strictly off limits. If you get one of these types of words, then go back to the Lord and ask Him to give you a different word instead.

  11. Time To Share

    Who wants to share first?

Take turns sharing the word or thought or picture that the Lord gives you. Try to refrain from long words so all will have time to share.

If you are doing a live activation group, then you might want to consider tape recording the words and giving the tape to the volunteer at the end of the exercise. This could prove a real blessing for them.

  12. Wrap It Up

A time for encouragement and to take a quick survey.

  13. Ask The Volunteer

    1. Did you relate to any of these words?
    2. Were you blessed or encouraged?
    3. Did any "hit" a situation? (Family, personal, life, job)
    4. Do you believe the Lord spoke to you through this group of believers?

  14. Ask The Group

    1. Did you have something similar to someone else's word?
    2. Did you think you heard... but weren't sure?

  15. Repeat With A New Volunteer

Select a new volunteer and repeat steps 10 - 14 with the new volunteer. If time permits, do it with a third (or even a forth) volunteer.

  16. Record The Words

If you are tape recording the word, then you already have the record of the word.. either give the tape to the volunteer or make a copy of the tape for the volunteer.

Otherwise, write out or print out the words that you received if you were the volunteer.
